Review Text: Broke after 16mo. I rarely write any product reviews but frustrations with this purchase experience has given me enough motivation to write this and hopefully warn others about Insignia products and customer service. I purchased this refrigerator on 2/13/2019 because of the high-rated reviews. My experience was completely the opposite. The unit stopped working/cooling completely on 6/23/2020 (after only 1 year and 4 months). Bad odor and brownish chemicals was leaking into the freezer compartment (see picture). I immediately contacted professional repair service (recommended by Yelp https://yelp.to/qTKq/ZZWg4fI7D7) and diagnosis was the sealed system failed and it's unrepairable. The technician concluded that it's a product defect given how short the time the unit was functional. I contacted Insignia customer service to inform them about this unit's defect. The only response they gave was Insignia cannot offer any help because it's out of their one-year warranty. This refrigerator has the shortest lifespan (16mo) I and anyone i know has ever owned. Words can hardly describe how unsatisfied i am given that i paid full price for this unit, did not operate it in any way to cause it to fail, and in the end, i was met with this very subpar level of customer service. It tells me that Insignia does not stand behind quality of their products and has given up on me being a returning customer.
