Review Text: A Big Upgrade From previous gen. Honestly, Im impressed. Last year's model, while not bad, was a bit of a letdown for me. I had the G5 for a while and it left a lot to be desired. This G15 is basically a ripoff of their Alienware model with inferior build quality but Im not complaining. The m15 is a gorgeous machine and if this G15 minics that, that's okay with me. Temperatures are so much better than last year's model. Fans don't run nearly as loud. The Ryzen 7 is a monster. The 3050ti is not the most inpressive card but I got my laptop open box for $850 and I'll be darned if you can find a better soec laptop for under $900. I really wanted a 3060 but the 3050ti does okay. I mostly play games like Apex and Rocket League with dont use a ton a vram but I've also played Red Dead Redemption and it runs about 60-70fps on high. I did add another 8gb of ram to make framerates stable. A system like this deserves 16gb of ram. I really enjoy the orange backlit keyboard. If its not RGB, it's usually always the typical "gamer red" color. So orange is a nice change. The screen reportedly doesnt have the best response time but I havent noticed any ghosting when running games at 120hz. Its worth mentioning that I downgraded my laptop to Windows 10. It comes with windows 11 but I was having issues on 11 like the battery life staying at 99% on battery power and not displaying accurate battery life. As soon as I went to 10, battery life started reporting normally. Overall, Im happy with this purchase. Last year's models were a mess. I even rememebr seeing the G7 throttle games when it wasn't on a flat surface (somethijg to do with how the gpu was seated). It's nice to see these laptops being great offerings as gaming machines again.
