Review Text: Best so far but no cigar!!!. This is my FOURTH adapter for my iPhone 7, which Apple decided to remove the headphone jack, taking away the easy ability to charge and listen, without spending MORE $ for Bluetooth earbuds. This adapter lasted the longest but eventually failed after a few months just like the rest. If you turn the phone clockwise to landscape mode with the Belkin logo facing frontward, it will work until I hit a bump in the road or something. This is unacceptable and exposes an obvious design flaw on Belkin's part. As it turns out, I am a professional musician and already have 2 pairs of Ultimate Ears Pro in-ears, which are really expensive and have far superior sound than any wireless buds Apple (or anyone else) can offer. Why Apple didn't make their own adapter just speaks to the abyss the company is undoubtedly headed for. I know that isn't Belkin's fault, they just tried to make a product that Apple SHOULD had provided for FREE. Nevertheless, here we are - at the mercy of 3rd party companies to provide quality adapters - which apparently has proven futile. I know Belkin was one of the first to offer this adapter but the price was too steep so I tried others. After 3 adapters quickly failing, I figured I'd spring for the price premium, bite the bullet and purchase Belkin's adapter. All was well. It seemed well built and actually looked like it could withstand some wear and tear. That turned out not to be the case. Being a musician and audio engineer, I KNOW how to take care of my cables. I am not rough with cables and adapters (I have 20-year-old studio cables and equipment that attest to that fact). The toughest thing this adapter has been put through is turning the phone from portrait to landscape position, which produces a slight bend in the cord. Well as it turns out, this common changing of positioning was too much for this seemingly "well-designed" adapter. What a pity. At this point, I don't think I'm gonna spring for a 5th adapter - I've spent far too much money. I might even consider switching phone brands with one that offers a headphone jack. I expected better quality from Belkin.
