Review Text: A Competitive Headset. When it comes to gaming a quality headset can make the difference in the player having a truly immersive experience. The Alienware AW510H Wired 7.1 Gaming Headset does a good job at its price point. Pros: * It is competitively priced among similar performing headsets with some higher end features. * The ear pads are comfortable and completely enclose the ear. I was able to wear this headset for several hours at a time without any ear fatigue/soreness. Additionally, while this headset is not noise cancelling, the enclosed ear design greatly reduces outside sounds. * Compatible with both PC and console. It comes with the all the necessary adapters. * The headset has a quality feel and sleek design. Inconclusive: * The sound out of the box is pretty average; however, after adjusting the settings within the software I was able to improve the quality quite a bit. Additionally, within the software you can also use any of the preset settings (ie: shooter/racing/movie/music etc). My recommendation would be to take the time and dial in the sound settings to you have the more immersive experience. Cons: * The mic quality is poor and my only big complaint which prevents these from being a top 5 star contender. Even with extensive adjustments in the software my friends told me I sounded muffled. While there are a lot of settings that can be tweaked, it doesn't seem to make much difference. I would suspect this is a hardware related issue. My advice would be to put a higher quality mic in the next iteration. * I found it difficult to get these connected to the Alienware Command Center. Overall, I think this headset offers a lot of great features for the price. I have been very impressed with other Alienware products and think they almost achieved perfection with this headset. It is definitely worth a look!
