Review Text: Best bookshelf that bby sells for less than 300. Disclaimer: I have a Marantz 5010 giving each speaker about 100 watts each and a Martin Logan Dynamo 500 Subwoofer. So I've been looking for a set of speakers for L C R for a while but being a college kid and gotten lucky with good deals of most of my equipment and speakers I was on a budget. My Bowers and Wilkins 685's and old infinity center channel were great, but I planned on using them for something else preferably all matching. I was considering a set of Miccas from Amazon when these were on sale for 75 a pair and I knew price per performance for a LR and center from Micca it would be pretty tight competition. Plus I wanted to give the seemingly nonsense super tweeter a try. As a salsmen who has played with everything from polk t15s all the way to martin logan ESLs I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Without much tuning and the right crossover setting and right amount of power they preform for movies pretty well. Which that is the primary use I have planned. However putting on Nirvana unplugged and DJ shadow there is tight midbass and highs that are clear but not to hot as I was expecting. Im not a fan of anything by sony apart from their TVs and Dacs but I am thoroughly impressed by these. I just which the matching "center" was bigger so I wouldnt have to buy 4 and use 3.
