The Logitech G705 is a wireless optical gaming mouse from Logitech's Aurora Collection. It's a smaller size mouse built for gaming and boasts a softer RGB lighting with white casing. It has a 40-hour battery life and Bluetooth connectivity.
What It Comes With
The packaging includes the wireless mouse, the Lightspeed receiver, a USB extender, and charging cord.
The Set-up
Set-up is pretty easy. It can be used as plug and play with the cord or wireless with the Lightspeed receiver. It's recommended to download the Logitech G Hub software. This will give you full control over things like RGB lighting effects, DPI speed, and button assignments. There are tutorials for the G Hub software to give a quick overview of what it has to offer.
Appearance and Scale
This is a smaller sized mouse which doesn't work for me since I have large hands. My wife however thought that this was a great size for her, so guess who will be using the mouse. She connected with it immediately due to the contour and size, and was also attracted to the style. She found the white casing pleasant as it's a far departure from the typical black and gray mice that we normally buy. The lighting was soft and fully customizable.
It is part of the Aurora Collection, so if you like the appearance of the mouse you can also purchase a matching keyboard (G715), headset (G735), and microphone (Blue Yeti). The keyboard has a cloud shaped palm rest.
Use
The battery life is expected to be roughly 40 hours, which I have no reason to believe that the lithium ion battery wouldn't support. There are also features to save the battery, such as a timed turn off in case you forget to manually turn it off.
The mouse is lightweight and is geared for gaming. The maximum sensitivity is at 8200 dots per inch. Clicking is quick due to the Lightspeed connection. There are 6 programmable buttons and this mouse is set up for right-handed use.
Overall
This mouse isn't made for everyone because of its small size. At the same time, the small size combined with its numerous other features begin to target specific crowds really well. Logitech offers a truly distinctive product here and it seems to be well-done.
